Having cultural ties with other countries is important in creating a harmonious relationship because of the commonality it creates. An example of this is how we as Filipinos have more in common with other South East Asians in terms of how we live. The way we treat our family members is done probably in the same way. Being from the tropics, our homes are similar aside from some minor details. This is the same in other parts of the world such as Europe, South America, Africa, the Island Nations of the Pacific and others. People from the same region of the world are nearly interchangeable if not for their national identity.
